Who would have thought i would still be making profit. This weekend ive started gathering a few chips. Only playing really low limits and been playing a fair bit of PLO. Lets hope this tiny upswing of a $K and a bit continues.

2) Played live at the casino for the first time in a month or so…… and fucken loved it. Although i consider the Treasury casino a chinese knockoff of a Fisher Price “My First Casino”, they have slightly redeemed themselves. Big T is in a constant state of arousal now as they have introduced $20/$40 limit. Now he has a REAL job I was a bit skeptical and thought maybe only the rock regurlars would play a game of that size. But no. The bigger the stakes the more Asia loves it. Tripppplllllllllllllle. Its absolutely beautiful. The reason i shifted away from $10/$20 limit to the $5/$10 halfpot game was because live poker is so slow, it was really hard to turn a descent profit in the limited time i have to play live. Always makes me super LAG and when you dont hit its boring as hell. Double the stakes and its so much easier. If you have never played limit at the treasury its a little hard to explain how freaken awful they really are. Gave me a chance to put something down in the record books too; first straddle in the history of 20/40 limit. Ship it bitches – 5 7off was always going to be good. I worked up about 500 then got donked by alex just before the table broke at card change. Obv. you call $40 cold with 95diamonds. AA no good . Big T ended up a K in a little over a couple of hours. I am but a peasant in the presence of the limit master.

3) Half Pot Action
Had my first session mid last week. Only a couple of hours long. Now dont get me wrong – there are some very seasoned full time pros in that game. Milo you “maximum raise” monster, i try to tangle with him as little as possible. Alex – the ultra lag mofo who seems to have a horseshoe firmly lodged in his ass. Noone hits boards like that man. And he can freaken play too. Sqeak – pretty damn tight – but has a great feel for situations and how to extract the maximum from his opponents. Nathan – again very talented. Great reads and is probably the best of them at assigning hand ranges and is more than capable of getting away from a hand. A good 2 or 3 others players who arent there that frequently any more. Half pot is a real art – and these guys play every day all day. litterally have tens of thousands more hand experience than i do in that game. Its quite difficult to raise people out of the pot. Completely a post flop game. Another factor that makes the game very difficult is there is no capped buyin. Some of these bastards are sitting with 7 and 8 thousand in front of them. There have been pots in the past that have reached $20K+. So Sick. I generally sit in the game with between $800 and a $1000. Its enough of a bank to play freely, but not going to do your ass in one hand. This has actually happened to fish after fish, losing thir entire roll in a hand (so retarded) Thats what the likes of Milo etc and waiting for. I used to be a bit intimidated by the game. So not the case anymore. I feel i have a really strong edge over 95% of them. Its paid dividends too. So here is the sessions
a) Sat with $800. Was first session back and wanted to dip my toe a little. Table was crazy soft. Including one super drunk guy who went to the ATM about 6 times, and would call any hand down even with bottom pair. Super value fish. There were only 2 other real players at the table and the rest were monkeys. I picked up a few pots here are there but was mostly card dead. I had worked my stack up and down – struggling to hit a board. i think i had around $800ish behind when the following hand came up. Im on the button. Big chip stack – one of the 2 descent players is in the SB. As usual there is 5 or 6 limpers and i look down at 8 4spades. Lets limp. Descent player in SB pumps it to halfpot. For him to do this – he could only be on a high pocket pair from all the hands i had seen from him before, especially that bad out of position. 2 players call in front of me, and i begin the following thought process. The two callers were more than likely on a fairly average Ace or 2 face cards. Here i have position and can pretty much guarantee i have 2 live cards. I know the big stack is leading the flop for sure and if i hit i can pick up a nice pot. So, flop comes down 2spades 4diamonds 9spades . Pair and a flush draw- we are in with a big sniff.Sure as shit bigstack leads halfpot for $150, first limper folds, and 2nd limper, asian semi reg who is ultra poo but will always raise when he has made a hand only smooth calls. This is so perfect. Squeeze play time. Asian old mate to the best of my knowledge is on the same spade draw. Obv. higher than mine i would think and a set is very unlikely. With another player to act after him he cant not raise to proctect his hand if he indeed did hit a set. We KNOW bigstack is on the overpair. I 3bet to $450. I have about $300 left behind and am obviously committed to the hand. The bigstack as if on cue, repumps me to $750. Old mate asian thinks for a couple of mins and dumps. You cant call that baby on a flush draw. I almost beat asias cards to the muck showing the rest of my stack in. Before we flipped i said “old mate here is on AA or KK and i have any spade, 4 or 8. Burn and turn that shit”. I was a little off – big stack rolled QQ, no spade. Turn card blank. River 8clubs. Ship It!2 pair baby. Bigstack proceeded to vomit on the table. I love that spot and ill jam the flop any day of the week when i know my read is that strong. I really expected him to lay it down on the flop but oh well. Picked up a few more pots and finished up about $1.4K.

b) Yesterdays session. Table was really really strong. I almost prefer it that way now. Im starting to get a fair bit of respect from the regs and they tend to stay out of my way when im spearing a fish. Sat with $1000. Didnt really play a hand for the first 30 mins or so, and picked up a few babies. Was 2nd UTG and looked down at KK. Here’s where halfpot is tricky. The problem with a big hand and being the first into the pot you cant raise enough – yet your still telegraphing your hand. I opt to smooth call and reraise maximum any raise to thin the field. Limped all the way round to the SB. This guy i think is a certified retard. Had played with him the other day in the 20/40 game. Leading gutshots into 7 other runners. Calling gutshots the whole way. Middle pair the whole way. He has about $1600 behind. There was only one player to act after me who i try to avoid, alex and he had already folded. Against any of the regs you cannot make this play. Against this super retard, its hot. Being the tricky prick i am i smooth call, and get one more caller on the button. Flop comes down rainbow rags. donkey leads out half, i smooth call (risky, but maxiumum value), and button re-raises. super donkey thinks a little bit and re-raises. I see asian on the button jerk his head back in disgust and may as well said “i fold”. Perfect. I MIN RAISE the donkey. Rofl. He flat calls. Turn blanks. I lead Half. He calls. River blank again , i lead half he calls. Flipped the KK and instantly started raking in the chips. Donkey shook his head and mucked. Pot was about $1.6K i think. Or there abouts. Had to wait a while then, and picked up AKclubs. Got to value bet the shit out of the river when my Ace hit the turn. Got two callers for $120 or something. There was a card change and i decided to pull a bunch of money off the table. There were a couple of players who were getting really tilted and the game was getting spastic agro. Decided to leave $800 odd on. Next post i will talk about what happened with my freaken nemisis Nick, the asian call station. I just cant beat that monkey.

As for online play- there really hasnt been much at all. I have however joined a new site and im bloody loving it. Im not going to mention the name right now, there is piss all traffice – most ive seen is 615 players online. But bugger me the games are soft. There is only about 10 people who play my stakes – but i have such a huge edge over them i want to rape them some more before i reveal the glorious hunting ground.
